Dear Parents, The 2018 Kapurthala Sahodaya Volley Ball Tournament concluded on Dt: 10-12-2018 witnessing the Finals played between Sainik school vs Shri Guru Harkrishan Public School ( Boys ) & Shri Guru Harkrishan Public School vs Oliver Public School ( Girls ). The Championship event culminated this Afternoon, with the Closing Ceremony presented by our Students. The camp was conducted by trained team of experts from M/s. Rocksport. The Adventure sports attracted participation by 81 students accompanied by Form Tutors Silky, Shilpa & Rajneet. The Students were exposed to challenging obstacles a) Burma Bridge, b) Commando Crawling , c) Tyre Maze crossing, d) Use of zip lining & d) wall climbing. The main focus of the Adventure Sports programme was to train the minds of the Students in Listening , following instructions, taking responsibility for safety of self and others, developing courage to overcome fear . Dear Parents, Students travelling on Study Excursion experienced a Dinner cruise on board a Dow in the Dubai Creek, Dt: 17-11-2018.The gleaming sand dunes and high-rises that now mark the grandeur of Dubai make its origin as a small fishing village a little hard to believe. An integral part of this ancient Arab world was the dhow. Dhows are traditional wooden boats that were masterfully designed and built by the local fishing communities. On board the cruise in Dubai Creek, it was an opportunity to get engulfed in the history of the desert city. On either side of the creek, its oldest districts Deira and Bur Dubai stretch out in all their glory. Dear Parents, Students of Grade XI Blossoms and XI Commendables accompanied by Srishty & Jagjit – Form Tutors, went on a Study trip to view the 7th Punjab Horse Show and State Equestrian Championship, held at the Punjab Armed Police (PAP) Training Arena, Kapurthala Dt: 17-11-2018. The arena had a safe, friendly and professional atmosphere ideal for riders of all ages and levels to grow and learn. Students saw a well designed show jumping course challenging a horse without punishing him for doing his job. Jumps ranged in height from approximately 4’3″ to 5’6″. Fences were positioned in the arena with a carefully measured distance between them to allow the riders to complete the course within a specific maximum time. The course had 15 to 20 obstacles to jump, these obstacles or jumps feature combinations of single and multiple jumps taken on straight or curved lines. The Students observed that the ultimate goal is a no fault round, within the time limit. If a rider is unable to complete the course within the maximum time limit they are eliminated. If either the horse or the rider falls the pair is eliminated. Students saw contests events of Horse Jumping, leaping , Galloping , Trotting & Tent pegging. – Ekta Dhawan, Principal.

Dear Parents, School organised a one-day adventure sports camping experience, in campus, for preschoolers & Kindergarteners. The main aim was to get kindergarteners Physically active , understand Body movement and Think logically. The camp was conducted by trained team of experts from M/s. Rocksport. The Adventure sports attracted participation by 175 students. The kindergarteners were exposed to exhilarating activities a) crossing a River bridge , Climbing a Jungle Machan, Walking on a Balancing Bar, Syncronised Marching, balance walk, tree ladder climbing & In Air Traversing. The main focus of the Adventure Sports programme was to train the minds of the children in Listening , following instructions, taking responsibility for safety of self and others, developing courage to overcome fear . Importantly, a spirit of team work was also inculcated vide group activities. The students participated enthusiastically . Dear Parents, Students Studying in Std IX-B went on a Heritage excursion Study trip to the ‘ Grand Moorish Mosque ‘ with an objective to know about beauty of all faiths, each faith could be seen as a different coloured flower in a patch God created, all of them diverse but equally and collectively beautiful.Moorish Architecture, named after the Moors – North African people who conquered the Iberian Peninsula and many islands in the Western Mediterranean beginning in the 700s. The Moors controlled what is now Spain, Portugal, and the Pyrenees region of France for hundreds of years. The Moors were Muslim and influenced by the Islamic architecture that developed in the Middle East. Although mosques are the most common examples of Moorish architecture.
