BLPS– Staff

Our principal and her team of staff members work towards creating an awareness and respect for the tradition and culture of the region, and allow a synthesis of the best practices of other cultures for national bonding. The Team strives to build a society where a child/Student feels valued and develops an eminent sense of self-worth.

The Bawa-Lalvani Public School has a current staff strength of 120 which includes 65 teachers, 16 administrative staff, support staff and four Senior Leadership Team members. The school has a multicultural environment, with eight nationalities being represented in the school staff. 90% of the academic staff are Indian. The other nationalities being represented are Nepali.

The school attracts and retains highly qualified and dedicated staff. Amongst the teaching staff, there are 46 Post Graduate syllabus developers. 77% of our teaching staff holds a Master’s degree with 8% of them holding double Masters degrees.

A robust, transparent and accessible continuous development programme ( 28 learning Capsules) is in place for all members of staff. The school allocates time daily to this programme on an annual basis as it believes that staff are the school’s most significant resource. The aim of the CDP is to ensure the constant upgrading of staff competencies and their alignment with international standards , a bi-annual performance appraisal system allows for ongoing review of standards and professional growth.

A collegial way of working, empathy, consistency in approach and maintaining high standards are the basic tenets of the HR practices followed at The Bawa-Lalvani Public School which help, in turn, to achieve and promote an environment of consistent high quality in learning and teaching. Staff employed at the school must meet the highest standards of responsible and respectful behaviour. A Staff Code of Conduct clearly outlines the behaviour that is expected of all staff in the performance of their duties and when interacting with wider community. Staff members are accountable to students and their families, colleagues and the wider community.
