BLPS– Social Responsibility

Social service projects are school-based and some others are undertaken in accordance with IAYP Award Programme . Now, however, there is an increasing number of individual boys who are driving their own initiatives. For example, they have been involved in tackling substance abuse in slums and hill villages, and awareness about elimination of gender bias through the medium of performing Theatre/ Nukkad Natak.

The International Award for Young People is a non-competitive award scheme open to all students of the Senior School. The basic criterion for gaining an award is individual improvement, through persistence and achievement, taking into account the participants inherent capabilities.

The award programme has been divided into four sections - Service, Skill, Physical Recreation and Expedition, all of which strive to

develop the individual. Encouraging people to care for others is one of the basic aims of this award. The spirit of adventure, development of personal interests and practical skills motivate awardees to achieve bronze, silver and gold medals.

The school also assists with the operation and development of several village schools. This is an ongoing and increasingly significant part of the curriculum at the Bawa-Lalvani Public School.
